Eternal Frankenstein Proof

It’s always fun to see an idea for a book turn into an actual, physical book. Here Ross E. Lockhart displays a proof copy of ETERNAL FRANKENSTEIN, the Frankenstein tribute anthology he edited, and which Ross’s Word Horde Press will publish.

Recent Happenings, August 2016 Edition

A few things that are happening recently:

My debut collection The Lure of Devouring Light passed the 90 day mark. I’d stay it’s still being well-received, and more people seem to be discovering it every day. Here are links to the two latest reviews of the book:

I just received advance electronic proofs of two books in which my stories will appear:

Eternal Frankenstein, coming from Word Horde and edited by Ross E. Lockhart, will include my novelette “The Human Alchemy.”

Nightscript #2, edited by C.M. Muller, will be led off by my short story “The Carnival Arrives by Night.”

Also, I completed final edits on my story to appear in the next Lovecraft eZine, issue #38. That story is “Endure Within a Dying Frame.”

Most recently, I received word that my submission has just been accepted for a nifty, brag-worthy anthology coming next year, but I don’t yet have the go-head to announce specifics.

Lastly, I will be appearing on the Lovecraft eZine video chat this Sunday, August 14. Read about that HERE.

That’s all for now!

An October Festival and Book Release

I’ve just been confirmed as a guest for the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon coming up October 7-9 here in Portland. The Facebook event page is here, and I’m sure there will be a Kickstarter before long.

This is always one of my favorite events of the year, not only because it’s local. The HPLFF always manages to be one of the biggest and best gatherings of cool and interesting writers, editors, publishers, artists, filmmakers and enthusiasts of Cosmic Horror and the Weird. The event is not just Lovecraft-related, so if you’ve ever thought “Sounds fun, but I’m not super-Lovecrafty, myself,” you’d probably enjoy attending for the readings, panels, films and especially the people. At least a partial guest list should be available soon.

EternalFrankenstein

Also happening at this event will be the release of the next Word Horde anthology, Eternal Frankenstein. My own novelette “The Human Alchemy” will appear alongside works by a really interesting selection of writers, many of whom will be at the convention and ready to sign your books! I imagine there will be some kind of reading event associated with the book release, and/or possibly a group signing.

You can preorder Eternal Frankenstein now from Word Horde and later this summer from the usual outlets. Here’s what’s inside:

Eternal Frankenstein Cover Reveal

One of the most exciting projects I have coming out in the second half of the year is Eternal Frankenstein, a Frankenstein-themed anthology edited by Ross E. Lockhart and to be published by Word Horde in October. The book will include my novelette, “The Human Alchemy.”

Ross has just revealed the cover, by Matthew Revert, and it’s a beauty!

EternalFrankenstein

Of this project, Word Horde says:

Two hundred years ago, a young woman staying in a chalet in Switzerland, after an evening of ghost stories shared with friends and lovers, had a frightening dream. That dream became the seed that inspired Mary Shelley to write Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, a tale of galvanism, philosophy, and the re-animated dead. Today, Frankenstein has become a modern myth without rival, influencing countless works of fiction, music, and film. We all know Frankenstein. But how much do we really know about Frankenstein?

This October, Word Horde will be publishing Eternal Frankenstein, an anthology edited by Ross E. Lockhart, paying tribute to Mary, her Monster, and exploring their entwined legacy.
